"A man who works with his hands is a worker, a man who works with his hands and his brain is an artisan, but a man who works with his hands and his brain and his heart is an artist."

Louis Nizer

We are proud to be artists for several generations. Over time we have been incorporating British techniques into our national traditions, creating a unique model in the industry. Many of our artisans have worked with footwear for more than three decades and have received the passion and dedication to build each pair of shoes from past generations. We are happy to share this passion with each of our clients so that they can be part of this process and get to know the hands behind each model we develop.

Selection and cutting of the best skins
Selection and cutting of the best skins

The best stories start with a great beginning, our exceptional quality. We have made an effort to find tanneries where respect for animals and the environment are pillars of their corporate values. All our full-grain leathers have gone through a process where we certify the optimum quality of each one of the pieces. In each of our collections are imported designs inspired by the tradition of the United Kingdom and details of elegance and sobriety of our daily lives. Once we have the skins in our factory, they are cut by hand by our craftsmen based on the exclusive Winston & Harry models.

Pattern Cutting and Sewing

The second stage of the process is the most advanced cutting of the raw material. Our cutters create the patterns for each pair of shoes; they decipher and capture every detail of the model for the team of seamstresses to assemble the pieces. Once the detailed pattern is created, this shoe passes into the agile hands of the seamstresses who, with the help of their sewing machines, give the structure to this new work of art.

The shoe's insoles, toe box, and heel are tacked to Winston & Harry's exclusive lasts. Subsequently, the upper part of the shoe on which the cutters and seamstresses worked is made to cover the lasts and thus assemble the entire shoe. To finish shaping the shoe, the toe and heel are moistened and worked under high temperatures to mold them so that the sole can be added. The sole is adhered to finish the process using the "Blake-Rapid" method, where the sole is sewn in a single stitch. The last details of the process occur when the cambrion is added between the insole and the outer sole. Our favorite method allows the shoe to be flexible and light. This piece is designed to maintain the wearer's body balance and gives the shoe its final structure and arch support.

Our team of artists begins to give the final touch to each model. Inspired by legendary traditions, they provide the leather shine and life to make the shoe comfortable and highlight each pair's design. Our shoes are handmade and unique; the shadows and burns are made with spray and fire, giving the design an irreverent and elegant touch.
